Following Kennedy's Lead

Mr. Richman's observations and remarks illustrate what is probably the most denied and phenomenal worldwide irony of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the self-repudiation of cultural, national ways and morals by "Western" nations, particularly within the United States. Filling the void left by traditional values and mores are any number of the same, from foreign or alien cultures, with Islam being the primary beneficiary. This is not by any means a completely new developement, earlier periods in history, and the cultures and nations thereof, sharing in this verbal and social self-flagellation, include ancient Greece, Rome, the original Islamic empire (which, by the way, did not arise via any peaceful, benevolent enculturation process) and, more recently the Ottoman Empire.

Additionally there are in fact an amazingly large minority of Jews, particularly American Jews, who have also fallen prey to the same self-sabotaging way of thinking, with the difference that they at least do not embrace Islam itself. For the United States, and for Israel, this is a frightening developement, because the end result of such has always been the decline, and ultimate "fall," or destruction, of the states, and sometimes even the total destruction of the people which succumb to this seemingly inexplicable trend. In fact, that is what is in store for those now so engaged, as bin Laden and his ilk know so well. That is why the rockets are falling in Israeli towns and cities, and that is why Islamic terrorists began their work of recent decades; they know that Western nations, at least the media and governments thereof, have forsaken their own cultures, and indeed their real sovereignty, knuckling under to the threats and diatribes of their enemies and internal extremists.

As recently as 50 years ago, there would have been no question, anywhere in the world, as to how to respond, or otherwise deal with, anything so basic and straightforward as rocket attacks, from either an external, hostile state or people, or any kind of internal threat. The fact that Israel and the United States are at least 75% paralised, and incapable of properly defending themselves says it all.
