Yes, I knew about Yankee Stadium. It was altered in 1975--AFTER the LPC was formed. Yankee Stadium is still special. (Not that I'm advocating landmarking the outdated building.) I find it very difficult to believe that Yankee Stadium is not a New York City landmark and, for example, some unremarkable buildings in the City & Suburban Houses are New York City landmarks.
An eyesore of a Domino's plant is a landmark? The unremarkable housing complex on East 66th Street is a landmark? Nothing can change about them, ever?
I guess we'll respectfully disagree.
