Unless you want McCain to be president, consider this. Forget all the hype and conventional wisdom. Bottomline, in all probability voters will elect a president who is a white male and who seems like a natural to be comm ander in chief. McCain fits that bill. On the Dem side, especially if Gore doesn't run, we have Kerry, Biden and Clark. Hillary, Obama and Edwards are hard to envision as commanders in chief. In other words we may need a strong John Kerry, because the only Dem white guy who trumps him is Gore and he may not even run.
Also time to forgive Kerry for being smeared and lied about in 2004. And for losing in general. Nixon, Bush Sr. and Reagan all failed to win their first tries. And let's not forget Edwards was supposed to win a swing state or two for Kerry and ended up contributing no electoral votes.
