I view the examples of Taiwan and Hong Kong in the same vein.

Taiwan transformed itself from fascism to a strong democracy, only to have us acquiesce to Chinese strangulation. What happened to the self determination we preached?

This situation of the Hmong is another example of the United States appeasing whomever and ignoring the loyalties of people who support and trust American policy.

Britain, who acted so honorably toward the Polish exiles after World War II followed the same wimpy cut and run attitude in Hong Kong.

How we who invaded Iraq on a pretext do not have the courage to stand as allies for the dignity of Hong Kong, Taiwan or the Hmong.

When you make a policy, you are making a commitment to everyone who supports it. When you abandon your supporters, you lose respect.
