Sharif's objections are tactical, not strategic. He no more renounces Jihad genocide & terror than any other Muslim. Allah's commands, expressed in 8:12, 8:39, 7:67 & 9:29 are still in effect and can not be repealed. Islamic law still says "The Caliph makes war upon Jews and Christians", citing 9:29 as a basis. (Reliance of the Traveler, Book O, Ch. 9. Paragraph 8.)

Mistaking temporary pragmatism for permanent reform can be a deadly error.
