New York is a city of freedom. People came to NYC to get a better life passing by the Statue of Liberty. Now the orchestra travels to the most horrid, scary and brutal place in Asia. A place where children starving on the street are just walked by with no notice by adults who are brainwashed by a dictatorship that does not know the meaning of love and freedom. Does the orchestra really believe that the concert they will give will have any impact whatsoever on the regime over there? Every person that gets near them will be watched and probably filmed. The North Korean government will use this as propaganda on their own people who are starving and scared.
This is truly disgraceful by a leading arts organization of NYC. A sad, sad day for the city.
