Giuliani Begins Retreat From New Hampshire

Submitted by TVR, Dec 27, 2007 13:42

As an interested observer from Canada, I'm wondering why Ron Paul, whose point of view especially on foreign affairs and foreign policy seems to be much more in line with a traditional conservative philosophy, is constantly dismissed? Why are Americans so keen to have more of the same when it comes to candidates who appear determined to repeat the current administration's disastrous mistakes? It's almost as if every one of them, particularly on the Republican side (aside from Huckabee) is afraid to admit that the Bush administration's foreign policy has been a disaster, that state-sponsored corruption is paralyzing government, and that Bush himself has made the presidency of the United States somewhat of a laughingstock in the eyes of the world. Don't misunderstand, I believe that Americans are among the most generous and globally conscious nations on the planet - I just can't believe that the American public has allowed its government to be taken over by lunatics who seem bent on creating a global corporation that puts profit for the wealthiest first and to hell with everyone else. I'm hoping for drastic change and either Ron Paul or Obama - maybe Biden, or Edwards to win - but please, no more Bush clones! Make a positive change that will mean good things for all!
