There certainly have been major changes since I was growing up on the Lowere East Side. My folks paid $60.00 a month rent for a 2 bedroom apartment. Recenly my friends and I had dinner at a restaurant on east 4th street. For what we paid for dinner years ago that would have been a down payment on the building.
