A Gift From Italy

I organized a series of symposia held at Fordham University, Lincoln Center, the first, held in 1987 ,under the title of "Insight and Inspiration: The Italian Presence in American Art, 1760-1860; the second, held in 1989, "Insight and Inspiration: The Italian Presence in American Art, 1860-1920," the third, held in 1991 "Insight and Inspiration: The italian Presence in American Art, 1920-1990. The proceedings of the first two symposia were published jointly by the Italian Encyclopedia Institute and Fordham University. From the foregoing it is clear that I welcome particularly Dr. Miracco's stated interest in the interrelationship of Italian and American art. We are fortunate to have now a distinguished art historian leading the activities of the Italian Cultural Institute located in the heart of New York City. For the enormous art historical community in the Greater New York area this is true cause for celebration. His appointment as Director of the Institute will prove to be a bonanza for which we must all thank the Italian government.

It would have been helpful if you gave the address of the Italian Cultural Institute of New York. Thanks. [MORE]
