Lawmakers Deride Plan for Fees on Doctors

Submitted by NY Ophthalmologist, Jan 1, 2008 21:56

At present, the system has me almost working at a negative balance. I have one of the largest practices in my subspecialty in the state. I have no malpractice cases filed against me in almost 20 years of practice. If I was forced to pay a $50,000 surcharge on my practice I would immediately sell my building and work exclusively at my NJ office. This is a further indication of the deterioration of the healthcare system and the failures of tort reform.
