I hate the arcane nature of bureacracy and public policy. However, because we need to protect our sovereignty and regulate the flow of immigration we have no choice but to set up some kind of bureaucratic system. Whatever department does this and the process they use is not my concern when looking at the big picture. Our economy needs more workers to grow. Since we get to choose the workers under the system devised, we might as well pick the best workers to help our national goal to grow. The system and policy needs to transparent and responsive so that bottlenecks in labor availability are relieved quickly and reliably. Where is the leader among us, who can step up and help resolve this immigration gordian knot we are faced with? Paralysis is not going to anybody any good.
