Thank you for this important article on a topic which relates to American Justice. In plane language it is apparent that A.G. Mukasey is engaged in conflict of interest on the CIA tapes destruction case. The CIA is an agency of the Executive Branch of the United States government administered by the president. Destroying evidence in an investigation that the administration, including the president, has strong political interest in causes a conflict of interest between the president's and his administration's self interest and having justice done. The strong and very good purpose of independent prosecutors, special prosecutors and special councils is to not have the administration investigating the administration. The presidents appointees and their subordinates investigating the CIA and the White House is a conflict of political interest. The appointment of a non independent administration employee to investigate the administration in this case is a strong case of conflict of interest on its face. The investigating Justice Department lawyer appointed in this case reports to and is supervised by the assistant Attorney General who was appointed by the President and reports to and is supervised and evaluated by the Attorney General of the United States. The Attorney General Mr. Mukasey was appointed by the president and reports to and is supervised by the president. And the president can fire him at any time without giving cause for any reason including political reasons. Thank you for your attention to this important article on American Justice and how it can be undermined by political or other conflicts of interest.
