As a former resident of California, I see New York State stubbornly clinging to archaic notions concerning the needed change in attitude toward marijuana. We in NY need strong independent leadership to take a stand for making marijuana legal and available to those that would benefit from it medically. The evidence is plentiful and verifiable, that this substance provides far more benefits than problems. It is simply the cowardice of our elected officials that is keeping them from taking the lead and working to get legislation past that would put the current, silly and backward thinking in the past where it belongs.
