Perhaps this woman thought she identified the right man, I'm not defending her because this type of identification (relying of visual identification) has proven to be unreliable. Until someone identifies her all these years later we will never know if she thought she was being honest, if it was racially motivated or even if a rape occured...since it wasn't this man, either someone got away with rape or there was no rape at all.
