Thank goodness someone else noticed Kohler's flat (and cliched, and repetitive, and comma-abusive) prose. I thought I must be going insane, reading all the reviews that mentioned her lyrical and deft writing. I hope the figure of Lucy captures the interest of a truly deft writer in the future.
