A Dying Breed of Crooners

Submitted by Helen Qualls, Jan 8, 2008 14:50

I have tried for days to respond to the article "A dying Breed of Crooners", but everytime I do, I get choked up....and I am now....but here goes. My twice-yearly visits to New York have been unalterably changed. For more years than I can remember, I took comfort in knowing that the Pierre Hotel and Kathleen Landis would be there to welcome and entertain in the what was certainly the most elegant room in the city. We must accept change (change seems to be the buzzword of the year) but let's not accept the loss of elegance. Ms Landis' artistic talent, beauty, and spirit will live on in that space forever and we can only hope that she will be back when the hotel is renovated. Let us know where we can find her in the interim.
