It has been a long time since citizens of the USA have been able to look at their president as someone to respect and not someone with whom they could chat over a beer in some yuppie bar. I was eight years old in 1953 and will never forget my respect and awe of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. I had that same admiration for Colin Powell and was disappointed when he chose not to run for the presidency. I now turn my sights on Hillary R. Clinton for president. She is a woman of substance, courage and intelligence and has an acquired knowledge of leadership and politics that Senator Obama can only hope to gain as his political career progresses. At this time, as charming, handsome and well-spoken as Senator Obama may be, he lacks the substance and know-how to lead our country. The leaders of other countries will view President Hillary Clinton as a consummate leader, able ally and formidable foe who -- after the debacle of George H. Bush -- is the only candidate on either side of the party lines who can restore dignity to our nation's reputation. A vote for Hillary R. Clinton for president is a solid investment in deliberate domestic change and our national security.
