Name another public project after a politician?

NO! He was from Massachusetts--name something after him there. What's next-the William F. Buckley Boardwalk, or the Hillary Clinton Expressway? All three were carpetbaggers that used New york as a convenience for a political gain

Senator Kennedy's tragic death notwithstanding, I'm tired of seeing politicans names attached to building and the like. The Triborough has held the name for seventy one years-and it ought to stay that way.

If all these political families are so damned keen on getting their family name on something--let them bid for naming rights ala Citi Field.
