The renaming of Hudson River to Pataki Park must have slipped out of the last draft of the State of the State. Maybe the former NYC Parks Commissioner's stern admonishment to to wait until five years after the death of an honoree was heard all the way up on the Second Floor of the Capitol.
But, the name change that did get announced--with an aisle-full of Kennedys watching--was to rename the Tri-borough Bridge for Robert F. Kennedy. Echoing the Parks Commissioner's concerns for relativity, perhaps renaming the Berkshire Spur of the Thruway would be a more accurate honor.
