There are thousands of buildings in NYC that have been landmarked and are still worth landmarking. But it's more than a stretch to say that has had any effect on City-wide land values.

However LPC has chosen to landmark some almost ridiculous cases, due to politics. "Politics" in this sense is the very unfortunate fallout of our "democratic" system.

Yes, I knew about Yankee Stadium. It was altered in 1975--AFTER the LPC was formed. Yankee Stadium is still special.... [MORE]
