each holding themselves to be a victim of the miscast lable of sellout, one writing a book on the subject, the other reviewing it. gad what ground. not having read kennedy's book i cannot say he doesn't make notice of a fact that mc whorter doesn't mention: one cannot sell out if one never bought in. i find it difficult to believe that there's a book's worth of examination and or explanation to do there, but, again, i've not read kennedy's book. elsewhere, the thought of taking the balance between kennedy and mc whorter as the locus of an examination of the subjects they address is attractive, but if that is done it will necessarily be done by someone else. best regards,
