Iran Declares War

"It is a phrase with historical significance in Islam, for, according to Islamic tradition, in year six of the Hejira - the late 620s - the prophet Mohammad sent letters to the Byzantine emperor and the Sassanid emperor telling them to convert to the true faith of Islam or be conquered."

That above statement is false. True, letters were sent to the rulers of the nations surrounding Saudi Arabia. However, the letters contained information about what Islam taught and was about and invited them to accept Islam. From what I recall of the history, a woman ruler and another male ruler accepted Islam and another messenger bearing a letter to a ruler was tortured and killed. There was no threat in the letters and if there had been it would have been a very big mistake on the part of Mohammad because him and his followers were very weak at this time. They did not even have enough power to go and conquer the city of Mecca (that came much later when Mohammad finally had an army of 10,000 followers).
