As a disabled Veteran my COLA increase for 2008 is $52 dollars a month. Yet the increase of COLA from 2007 and 2008 combined does not come close to covering my monthly increases in utilities, gas, food, taxes or health care. San François, CA just got universal health care yesterday and if a Democrat is elected President this universal health care will spread like wildfire. How can the middle class pick up the tab for health care for the uninsured American's and illegals? And don't forget the double digit increase in school taxes because of the "poor" children of illegal's. What about the poor, hungry children of legal U.S. tax paying American citizens? Where is the justice?
