Excellent write-up! To the folks who just don't like bad news, I say "Too bad. Get over it and face reality, instead of the make-believe world we live in that's caught up in platitudes and superficiality". Thanks for the reality check. While we may not be able to change some things, articles like this at least keep us aware of what's going on around us. Your column was reprinted in our local newspaper with the subtitle, "Think last year was scary? Beware '08". A fine job; keep it up. The picture used in our paper is better than the one on the NYSun web-page; unless you particularly like that one, maybe you'd consider a change. One our favorite columnists is Mortimer B. Zuckerman of U.S. News & World Report; (http://www.usnews.com/sections/opinion/index.html). He publishes similar warnings often and almost always seems to be dead-on. This family isn't negative; we just prefer the truth, regardless of positive-negative flavor. Finest regards, Richard
