Questions for Obama

Submitted by Colin Mincy, Jan 12, 2008 21:05

I'm sorry, but in case anyone hasn't noticed we're well into the election - One caucus and a primary down with tremendous implicaitons on the race to the Democrat nomination and we're just now questioning Obama and nailing him down on specifics about policies he'd enact when he becomes President!? The media has essentially given Obama a free pass...and if he won New Hampshire he would probably have coasted to victory without being properly vetted. The fact is when Obama faces the Republican nominee he's going to have to answer these questions. I'm glad these questions are now being asked, but it's a little late. Good speeches are nice, and Obama is absolutely inspiring. However being inspired is not going to solve the mess that two terms of Bush Administration has created in the United States and around the world. If Obama's lack of specifics should concern people. Edwards and Biden were the only candidates who have showcased time and time again specivic policies, how much they'd cost and how they'd pay for them. Biden's bowed out of the race, and thanks to the media's celebrity-like courting of Obama and Cliton, Edwards is holding on to dear life....which is healthy for the debate among Democrats and this country. It's time to stop the hand holding of these candidates by the media, and it's time for Democrats to wise up and stop getting seduced by charisma and start vetting these candidates issue by issue.
