If President Bush is interested in his legacy he should return to the courageous stand he took on 9.11.01 when he declared that nations had to be decisive concerning which side to join - fighting against or collaborating with Radical Islam whose weapon is terrorism - used against the free world.
Unfortunately, Mr. Bush has deviated from his own strong mandate; inconsistency is evident in his acceptance of Saudi Arabia as a 'friendly' nation despite the participation of its citizens in the WTC tragedy and, even today, its broad financing of extremist Wahhabism. Another example is the President's determination to create a Palestinian state which would be another terrorist entity and a 23rd Muslim/Arab apartheid state, discriminating against all religions except Islam. It is incongruous - to be fighting to establish democracy in Iraq while demanding that Israel, -a democracy and strong American ally in the very fight that Mr. Bush espouses - make concessions that endanger her security. The 'peace process' is a fiction; the word 'process' implies reciprocity but Mr. Bush's urgent need to create a Palestinian state at all costs, has compelled him to overlook the actions of those who are part of the larger network of international terrorism in favor of a 'quick fix'. It is sadly predictable that the Middle East and the world will suffer from the President's political myopia ; this will be his legacy.
