Electoral Quirks Are Poser in Nominating Process

Kind of ironic that in thousands of hours of covering the campaign like a horserace, the actual delegate numbers that matter are treated as, if anything, a footnote -- this is the first serious discussion of them that I've seen anywhere. More broadly, I think the media need to seriously reconsider all the attention they devote to poll numbers and spend more time addressing actual issues that matter. We are barraged with nonstop poll numbers which do nothing to help us make up our minds, unless our goal is to vote for the candidate who polls predict will win the election. At best, they're useless, and at worst, they change the outcome of elections that should be decided on issues. What percentage of Clinton/Obama voters could tell you the actual differences between the two candidates health plans? Never has so much time and money been spent communicating so little relevant information.
