I too, did vote for Kennedy then. However, the afterthoughts came quite a bit later. He was responsible for 2 disasters - the bay of pigs and Vietnam. (The assassination of Diem made our involvement in Vietnam necessary. Attempts to excuse him from that involvement are not convincing.) Lack of maturity and experience combined with charm and good intentions seem like a recipe for disasters
