Asking the Department of Labor to regulate the number of visas and green cards to issue is like asking a blind man to chauffeur you around town. I don't know how the Labor Department goes about certifying what and what does not constitute "skilled labor." But I've seen enough labor certifications from DOL that says "business analyst" for a Dunkin Donut shop in Trenton, New Jersey, is a skilled labor. I bet if I wanted to, I could get our Labor department to certify hot dog-stand operator to be a specialty skill. Is that the kind of agency you want to be in charge of a national security/immigration issue? Stick to what you're good with (economic analysis) and leave the national security and immigration debate to others who may be flawed but at least have experience.
