Natural Law Versus Campaign Law

This will be my first year to vote in a presidential debate and the more i research and learn the more i understand that there is barely any middleground to speek of in politics. Although i am pushing for a change from republican to democratic for the presidency in the comming years, there are alot of issues i disagree with as far as the canidate's stances. Where democrats are pushing for reform to make the lives of our citizens better, they are ok with the ending of an infants life if it is unwanted. Where the republicans are conservitive with the economic, healthcare and immigrant issues they are very passionate about the value of a life. Democrats accept gays where republican reject them.

So i ask: is there a middle ground? I am more inclinded to side with the democrats at this point but maybe someone could help me make sense of all this. Convince me for or otherwise but as of right now, my vote is with John Edwards
