Sabre as a peace tour present

Several papers showed Mr Bush holding a sabre he had just received as a present on his visit to Saudi Arabia. The sabre does not seem to be an appropriate present to be given to someone on a peace tour of the Middle East, unless it symbolizes the willingness to bury the weapons and to really open all channels to reach peace in a region torn by war and conflict for so many decades.

Bury the sabre, build peace. If that was the message, it will hopefully be understood by all factions still resorting to the most deadly weapons to prove their point instead of resorting to open dialogue.

Bury the sabre, build peace. May all warring factions do the same. To finally give the children of the entire Middle East a peaceful and constructive future.
