Police Union Seeks To Shut a College Loans Program

Submitted by Peterson, Jan 16, 2008 17:28

This just shows to what extent the PBA, and much of the rest of the labor movement, is now fighting against the best interests of its members, solely to benefit the leadership. Why on earth would the union be opposed to its members getting more money?

If Lynch and his cronies actually cared about their rank and file (especially the rookies who are the future of the agency and union, and took a hard job for low pay), they would be 100% behind programs like this, and in fact would be negotiating for the tuition benefot to be extended to all cops, not just the new ones.

The cops, and the rest of us who work for the City would be much, much better off if we lost union representation.
