Ms. Magazine Decision Is Called 'Contemptible'

Submitted by DNA, Jan 16, 2008 19:49

The supposed firestorm over this is a complete nonissue. Having worked with the magazine in the past, I know for a fact that Ms. does not accept advertisements for countries, and their mission is to promote feminist causes regardless of boundaries. Trying to paint this as an anti-semitic event is absolutely ludicrous for a magazine that has multiple articles on the efforts of feminists in Israel, without taking sides in the Israeli-Palestine, let alone exhibiting anything close to anti-semitic. Ms. does not promote countries, they do not publish country advertisements, and that is exactly what this ad was intended to do It was completely in line with a long standing policy and attempts to paint this as some sort anti-israeli sentiment are ridiculous on their face.
