Ms. Magazine Decision Is Called 'Contemptible'

Submitted by Barbara, Jan 17, 2008 08:23

Good for Ms. for be willing to draw a line and risk the usual backlash of anti-semitic claims. Ms. Magazine's mission is to support women everywhere, not to take political sides on foreign policy issues. It sounds to me like the purpose of the ad in question is clearly to promote Israel, not to promote women's rights or concerns.

Besides, pro-Israeli groups get their message out to Americans quite successfully already, through ads, Hollywood, print media such as The New Republic and The New York Times, e-mail forwards, etc. Whenever any tv journalists try to cover the Palestinian crisis in even a balanced way, pro-Israeli groups threaten to boycott the stations until the stories are pulled.

Don't the American people deserve to be given all the facts about a situation, not just one side? How else can we make an informed decision?
