Fewer Abortions Being Performed in America, Study Shows

It is wonderful news that the abortion rate has fallen but the Guttmacher Institute doesn't provide a reliable analysis of why.

The Guttmacher Institute is a lobbying and research arm of Planned Parenthood. Consequently, they have little reason to explain that contributing factors to the decline in abortions include the fact that: more than 60% of Americans reject abortion on demand, younger generations are increasingly pro-life, ultra-sounds and counseling often change the minds of pregnant women considering abortion, and pregnancy centers actively support pregnant women during and after what might have been an unwanted or 'crisis' pregnancy.

Add to these the fact that there is increased awareness about the emotional and physical damage that abortion causes to women, more information about fetal pain, and, last but not least, that the pro-life movement has worked steadfastly for the last 35 years to promote a culture of life which both respects women and defends the lives the unborn.
