Regarding the focus on Governor Spitzer's current responsibility for the Atlantic Yards megadevelopment, (yes Pataki was responsible in earlier days), the important point right now is who is responsible now as people look to for appropriate recourse to halt the project now. Far more people have a better sense of the project and its problems now than when it was being rushed through with misinformation and misdirecting hype. As the number of New Yorkers grow who are appropriately informed about the project and who therefore oppose it and are looking for the ways to halt the project, it is Governor Spitzer who is hiding being a veil culturing "plausible desirability" while actively supporting the project in many of the most crucial ways. There is perhaps little to positive to say about Governor Pataki's involvement with the project except he was more honestly out in the open about his support for it than his successor.
(Among other things, people should also be thinking in terms of the City Council withdrawing funding which would make hundreds of millions of dollars available for worthwhile use.)
