Looking for a Recovery? Take the Long View

Profit and opportunity are not dirty words. The greatest asset Americans have is the freedom to benefit from meeting social needs. We should honor this skill. When someone creates wealth and either spends or invests, that person gives another the opportunity to do the same. Few people understand this fact and fewer act upon it.

Government carries responsibility for our woes by failing in educate, then failing to enforce a duty to inform investors of actions. The sub prime default rate is but a string of events like Enron, MCI, and the savings and loan crisis, where the American investor was betrayed by her government and blind sided by the financial industry that seeks our trust.

It is time to stop assuming that our government can think more clearly than we can and it is also time to disabuse anyone who believes he can lie to us and gain by doing so.
