If there is a reason all these announced projects don't get done it's because Pataki pushed for too many at once, with no idea how to pay for them. His highest priority - LIRR East Side Access for his Republican base in Long Island is getting done, and thus the article never mentions it. Also unfair to claim 2nd Ave is "30 years late". That project died, as did the ones before it. Why not claim it is "80 years late"?
