A focus on school aid that is called school aid is misleading. Including "back door" education funding through "school tax relief aid," is the city's share being cut or kept the same?

Understand that as soon as the election is over, greater deficits will be "discovered" and overall school funding will be drastically reduced. If the past is a guide (and this happens over and over), the city's school funding wll be slashed in absolute dollars, while state funding continues to rise in the rest of the state.
