Democrats insist that words like "Reagan" may never be spoken by democrats in the same sentence with praise. Why: because Ronald Reagan is liberalism's Martin Luther. He showed America, and in fact he showed the world that liberals' ideology of controlling the economy, suppressing speech, doling out society's resources based on race etc were the paving stones in the road to ruin. Ronald Reagan turned "liberal" into a dirty word and justifiably so. Hence his status as democrat bete noir. Hillary and Bill resent Reagan, because they know that his presidency far exceeded Clinton's and that Reagan is ranked in the top five while Clinton is best known for being impeached and for his absurdly immature and irresponsible dalliances with Monica Lewinsky. So if any democrat utters "the R word" in the same sentence with praise, it is a mortal sin, to be expiated only with electoral defeat. To his credit, Obama at least recognized Reagan's abilities to mobilize the people, but he still cannot bring himself to utter "the R word" in a sentence praising him.
