"progressives" of both parties have brought NY from Empire state to pathetic state. Upstate is a shadow of it's former self and has lost many productive workers and lost much of it's industry. A low tax base, while Spitzer and his ilk continue to spend well above inflation and above 'average' wage increases while reducing help for the mandates. Localities have little tax base left but property , so up the taxes go and more they move out, eroding the tax base ever more. Where are the adults, can anyone stand up to the special interests?
