Linda , in the comment above says that Walmart is "BAD" and suggests readers visit walmartwatch.com to get the real story behind this satanic presence in retailing. If you have a wry sense of humor , go immediately. One of the best sections is a proposed college curriculum which could easily pass as parody --that is, if your professor isn't a unreconstructed Marxist-- that explicates the basic unfairness of the chain in breathless prose not seen since the heyday of the Daily Worker. A "case study" discusses how Vlasic Pickles was forced to sell to Walmart at pennies less per jar than Vlasic could afford to produce them and after discovering too late the error of its business model , had to declare bankruptcy and go out of business. Obviously, Vlasic should've sold their pickles in France , gotten a government subsidy and then sold to Walmart. To be fair, perhaps that's taught in an advanced course . I didn't get much further
