War Child Defends His Story

I worked for Sierra Rutile Ltd (SRL) from 1992-1994. Had the events taken place in 1993 I would have been evacuated, or taken prisoner in Jan 1993. Some friends and fellow workmates were taken hostage in the rebel attacks of 1995 and held captive for 3 months. These people were from both Sieromco (bauxite mine) and SRL (Rutile mine) as well as a local doctor (Dr. Wy? unsure of spelling). One further proof of the date being incorrect is that I flew both my sons from Australia to SL in JULY 1994 (nearly 18 months after the alleged attack on Mobimbi and the mines)to celebrate my oldest sons' 18th Birthday at the time. It cost me AUD$10,000 for the airfares and somehow they were on a Russian plane at some time. I had malaria for the 1 week out of the 3 that they were there and couldn't even get out of bed. Dr Wy (sp?)treated me for my malaria. I can dig up more witnesses (my ex-boss and his partner) who luckily were in Australia on holidays in JANUARY 1995 when the rebels attacked the mines, took hostages and looted their home. Bazza
