As (what my favorite professors referred to as) the University's token hidebound conservative "project" (Rhode Island '91 B.A. Political Science) and the only member of my law school class to wear proudly a Bush/Quayl(e)* pin in 1992, I have some experience with the antipathy of liberal professors. My experience, however, was not one of indoctrination, but generally of exasperation. More than once I heard: "How can such a smart guy think the way you do?" I received a better education than my liberal classmates because my views were constantly challenged. My liberal counterparts could espouse the most trite dogma without the slightest nod to logic, reason or evidence. My trite dogma, on the other hand, required careful reasoning, plenty of back-up and a thick skin. This prepared me for life and business. I have since been in the position of training some of the more recent additions to the business world and I find the left leaning entries entirely unprepared for criticism, demanding standards and requirements for critical thinking. So let's at least look at the benefits that the liberal professors are giving us. They teach us early to swim in the deep end.
