Lynn Stewart is a respected and tenacious defense attorney who
has practiced civil rights law for decades. Then Attorney General
Ashcroft seized on an opportunity to chill the activist legal community
who oppose the sweeping Patriot Act. Ms Stewart should be free
to resume her exemplary work on behalf of poor and working people.
