and maybe this is a good solution - Why should Egypt and the other Arab countries lock these people out and force them into refugee camps with so much land available.

Many Palestinians hold Israeli citizenship and they are represented in the Israeli parlament. Like any other family, city or country, Israel simply seeks to protect itself from fanatics who vow to destroy it - would you not do the same?

The Palestinians are being used as pawns by thier own leaders who live in luxury around the world and by Arab nations who could easily absorb them into thier countries and provide opportunities for a good life, while they maintain thier separate ethnic identity. Israel has done this for refugees from Ethiopia and Darfur when no one else would.
