Orwell Would Be Proud

Pure genius. I'm sure there will be no shortage of personal attacks against Mr. Steyn by two generations of people socialized to get along (rather than think) by the Public Education Machine. 'He's a racist! Islamaphobe!' 'Bigot!' 'That is just so hurtful - sniff sniff - to the religion of peace! Even if they do mutilate women and force them into covering up their faces lest they learn to read, it's their culture- we have no right to judge!' 'Boo-hoo-hoo!' In the meantime our society painstakingly makes sure we don't hurt the feelings of those who would murder us and eliminate democracy, the free press, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and a freedom from state-sponsored religion. Mainstream political figures trample one another to appear to be more 'engaged' with 'moderate' Muslims - one just has to understand that the hatred of Israel is not er, actually, a radical position. We spend millions of tax dollars on Muslim-themed community centers (for example, in Detroit) and millions more litigating against public displays of Christmas trees so that no one - well, no atheist, gay, or Muslim person - can possibly feel threatened or left-out. We are apologizing our way into the dustbin of history.
