Taxes Made Simple

SET ia another version of a flat tax on income. History has proven such a tax does not work. Our current income tax code began as a flat tax on income when enacted in 1913. The tax rate on the first $20,000 was 1% and 7% over $500,000. An overhwelming majority paid the 1% as so few in 1913 earned more than $500,000. Only one half of one percent were taxed. Today more than 80% must file a tax return. Any flat tax proposal on income that still maintains the IRS and will eventually bring us back to our current predicament. Tinkering with the existing tax code with another attempt to reform is not a solution. The income tax code is beyond reform. It is time to replace the income tax.

The only viable solution is The Fair Tax. It will shift the tax burden from income to consumption. All federal income taxes will be abolished. Purchasing power will increase since people will have more money in their paychecks. It is the long term version of The President's and Congress's tax rebate stimulus package. No more will people have to spend countless hours and dollars filling out tax forms and paying accountants. People will pay the tax when they make a purchase. More importantly it dissolves the oppressive IRS and returns power and freedom to the people by giving individuals the choice of how often and how much they are taxed. It was the intent of our founding fathers when they drafted the Constituion power be disbursed to the people. The Fair tax achieves that goal. It's time to make April 15th just another day.
