I will agree without reservation that John McCain is both more honest and conservative than Mitt Romney. So what? We have not had an actual conservative candidate to vote for since Reagan, and frankly he was a bit lacking. It never ceases to amaze me that after failing miserably to defeat Bill Clinton, twice, and being betrayed badly by George W. Bush the Republicans still put up candidates that are liberal. I understand why the party is nervous about Ron Paul as far as his chances for election. Although those who understand the constitution and love it, can see the wisdom in his position, the typical brain dead TV voter won't. They have been so brainwashed they see the constitution as kooky. Even though I am going to vote for him in the primary and the general election, even if he is an independent I fully understand the parties hesitation. However It has been said many times that losing to Hillary would be better than electing a fake conservative. I have also heard a huge number of conservatives say they would rather stay home than vote McCain or Romney. I propose everyone who hates these phonies as much as I do, instead of staying home, vote for Ron Paul. If he did win we would have a real small government, strong economy president. In the likely event that he doesn't, we will have sent a message to the party that we want real conservatives and won't support your phonies. After one term of Hillary America will be ready for honest candidates and all the Republicans will have to do to sweep White House and Congress is offer them some.
