The author assumes that the entire purpose of a private school education is to ensure a students admission into into one specific, elite school. An excellent school prepares a student for a lifetime of learning. It's not about what you are able to memorise for a test, what really matters is your ability to use what you've learned to fashion a rich, versatile, and productive life. Even if we measure a persons success by their ability to amass money, elite Colleges are still not the answer. Far better surveys then this one have shown that college graduates who make more money do so becase of personal drive, determination and and the ability to APPLY their education- NOT because they went to Harvard. Has the author ever looked into what sort of formal education the richest self-made Americans have recieved?
